AfyaPro Modules

AfyaPro Connected Care software is the next generation software in health administrative management. It is a cloud-based system. It is fully featured, scalable and has an amazing design. It is the ideal starting point for a modern Health IT solution. AfyaPro 2.0 supports all core processes of health care, medical supplies, billing, management, and reporting. It runs on different devices, easy to install and is less dependent on the grid. Regular upgrades assure the software is never outdated.

The Modules are categorized with accordance to outpatient and inpatient management

Patient Portal  

Mobile app that gives patients access to features like ; 

• Appointments scheduling where a patient can schedule appointments with their caretaker. Reminders of scheduled appointments are also sent to patients before the scheduled date.
• Access to Educational materials and Questionnaires shared by a professional. These help ensure that patients participate more in managing their health and any conditions that they may have.
• Access to care tasks assigned by a professional. This feature is especially useful to patients with conditions such as Diabetes, Hypertension, among others.
• Self-measurement can be taken by patients from places of their convenience. This feature is very useful to patients whose vitals need to be monitored by a medical professional for a given time.
• Chat features where patients can easily chat with their assigned caregivers.

Claims Management (Billing Claims) 

This module has several (generic) reports standardly included to cover the basic management needs. Customized reports can be added. A sub module is the reporting to public authorities based on DHIS2. This module handles claims to insurance companies supported by the Facility. It handles functionalities like: 

• Submission of claims Online. 
• Sending NHIF Claim forms in a single click.   
• Generating insurer bill invoices. 
• Defining insurance coverage schemes. 
• Accessing claims history. 

AfyaPros eCare centre enables the provision of services like; review, analysis, and monitoring of patients’ vitals and complaints, assignment of care paths, educational materials, among other medical advisory services. It is an independent unit that may consist of diabetic, cardio, and hypertension personnel like Nutritionists, Nurses, Educationists, who use the AfyaPro Intelligent System to virtually attend to patients. Patients also use the mobile app to communicate. 

Normal registration  

With a range of options to enter patient data and send them to their appropriate consultation room. 

Emergency registration 

With minimum data registration only. The rest of the details of a patient can then be updated when the patient is in a stable condition. The registration module allows for extensive data to be captured but not all fields are mandatory. Fields to be completed include but not limited to: 

Appointment Scheduler  

Under this module, appointments can be scheduled for consultancy services such as, Diabetes consult, Hypertension consult, Cardio-Vascular Diabetes Consult. All specialists’ consults can be scheduled on this module. This module allows for services to be scheduled for a patient. Services include consultation appointments, labs, pharmacy, specialist etc. 

Booking Service  

This module is very well suited for external patients who only visit the health facilities for specific services like the laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology, among others. 

Ward Admissions  

This functionality enables the hospital to manage their admissions in respect of availability of beds in the various wards:

• Medical professionals can tell which beds/wards are not occupied so they can admit patients
• Medications prescribed to patients and the times these medications are to be administered, billing, lab and radiology requests for admitted patients among others.

This module handles all payments received in the hospital. It has the capabilities to handle multiple payment methods and types such as co-payments, advance payments, mixed payments (insurance top ups with cash and or mobile money payments etc.) For example, the billing module is integrated with Mpesa Mobile money from Vodacom/Safaricom.

Under this module the nurse can conduct all vital tests and measurements as well as conduct minor procedures/surgery (e.g., Circumcision)  and major procedures/surgery preparations and directly key them in the AfyaPro system. Once these vitals are saved in the system, they can easily be referred to by a doctor who has a consult with a patient.  The Nurse can also be able to conveniently admit patients who are in critical condition. At the same time, the Nurse can view the latest lab orders, radiology results and medication that has been prescribed to a patient.  

This module supports the doctor to capture patient data, which is used for history, (preliminary) diagnosis, and treatment. Requests for other service like laboratory, radiology, medications are also done in this module. Patients can be admitted and discharged in this module as well. Patient data can be displayed in several ways to accommodate doctors’ preferences. In the doctor module, you can also schedule online consultations (Telemedicine) through Zoom, MS Teams, Skype, etc.  

Maternity/RCH Nurse

This Module covers the Antenatal Care, Postnatal Care and any other maternity care related services. In this Module we shall find services like:

• Contraception and Family Planning
• Antenatal Care
• Child Delivery
• Postnatal Care
• Immunization Tracking

Lab and Radiology

Lab test requests are received from the registration clerk (for external patients) or that have been requested by the doctor and any other medical specialists in the facility. The lab tests are defined with their WHO acceptable results ranges and the possibility of uploading result files of all types such as .doc, .pdf. Radiology requests from the registration clerk (in the case of the external patient) doctor and any other medical specialist in the facility. 

• Images taken can be uploaded and attached to the patients file in the software 
• Access to reports based on the use of multiple filters.

Consultations

Cardiovascular Risk Management 

AfyaPro guides a professional in cardiovascular risk management through the provision of different individual patient graphs, charts, and the creation of risk profiles for patients a doctor may think need one. AfyaPro also guides a professional in the management of diabetes through the provision of different individual patient graphs, charts, and the creation of diabetes risk profiles where necessary.

Pharmacy and Stock Management  

This functionality helps with the administration of the facility. This functionality may include modules like: Hospital Admin, IT Admin, Pharmacy Admin, Inventory Admin, Laboratory Admin among others. It includes functionalities like: 

• System access management
• General Monitoring of the facility
• Performance review (monthly, weekly, yearly reviews)
• Product management including adding and editing wards, beds, lab parameters and tests, medication, among others.

AfyaPro is also integrated with DHIS for reporting functionalities. Data from AfyaPro submitted to DHIS instance automatic for report generation and analysis. For example

• Integrated programme summary report: Reproductive & child health, Medical & rehabilitation service.
